The problem is that some of the serious armoring happens in this part of the body. We’ve all been exposed to such a puritanical view of sensuality. Integrating sensuality in music is the feeling that fills the spaces between notes, it’s what fills up a note, it is the richness of the dot. Awareness of your whole body, including the genitals, is what fills the spaces… The sexual element that goes into playing… is incredibly strong… It’s right at the heart of a big sound.
