Any others I’m missing? Dead or alive? (message my ask)

Holy shit I went to practice my viola and my hands were so goddamned cold that I got to the top of my 4-octave C-major scale and I wanted to cry. In other news, I’m really worried about my left arm, I feel like I’m starting to get tendonitis at times when I play (I’m talking like, 6th or 7th position and higher) and I need to be able to command that register with ease. I have to learn this whole goddamned Bach suite and my excerpts fairly quick here, and physical injury would be awful. I have festival applications coming up here, and I need to get my repertoire in order for next year’s grad school auditions.

Does anybody (preferably viola or violin players) have any suggestions? The pain is shooting on the outside part of my forearm. Part of, I think, is I need a smaller viola. I can play my 17” with a lot of power but a 16.5” might be more suited to me. What have other music majors or people who have done intensive playing have to say?

Let’s be honest violists are just better in bed. Maybe not the best at life, but definitely better in bed.
